Postoperative control of a tibial and fibular midshaft fracture.

Intramedullary nail

Tibial shaft fracture

Nail

Open reduction of the tibia midshaft fracture and internal fixation with an intramedullary nail.

Locking

Locking proximaly and distaly to avoid shortening and rotation of the fragments that are in an anatomic position.

Metallic staples

Metallic staples at the four surgical incisions.

Fibular shaft fracture

Bone deformity

Comminuted fibula fracture still evident postoperatively. It will heal by itself.

Splint

A splint is installed after the surgery to prevent equinism of the foot.
