28-year-old male:
Heel pain following a three story fall.

Calcaneus fracture

Linear hypodensity

Calcaneus comminuted intra-articular fracture. On the lateral view, one of the main fracture line originates from the posterior articular facet and ends inferiorly on the plantar side. On the oblique view, this fracture line is from anterolateral to posteromedial.

Second fracture line

Calcaneus fracture

Linear hypodensity

A second fracture line originates from the first fracture line and extends superiorly. It represents a compression fracture of the posterior articular surface : this is thus an Essex-Lopresti depression type fracture.

Comminution

Calcaneus fracture

Linear hypodensity

Comminution extension to the anterior process.

Böhler's angle

Böhler angle is decreased at 9°, compared to 32° on the other side.

Gissane's angle

Gissane's angle is slightly increased to 145°, compared to 120° on the normal side.
