47-year-old male:
4.5 m (15 feet) fall.

Wedge fracture

Bone deformity

Wedge-looking fracture of T11 with anterior wall height loss of 35%.

Flexion-distraction fracture

Linear hypodensity

With a second look, we can see a fracture of the posterior elements indicative of a flexion-distraction type injury rather than a typical compression wedge-type fracture. This fracture is easier to assess on the CT scan.

Intact posterior wall

The posterior wall is intact.
